Summarized Purpose:
We are presenting an outstanding opportunity to join Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Systems Developer. In this role, you will play a crucial part in performing the systems analysis, building, development, testing, and support of moderately complex technical information system components.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and relevant formal academic/vocational qualification
- Minimum 3 years of experience in systems development, DevOps, or related roles
Major Job Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
- Streamline infrastructure operations through the use of IaC tools such as AWS CDK (Python), Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation.
- Configure and manage cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) with a focus on scalability, security, and cost-efficiency.
- Arrange AWS services (VPC, EC2, RDS, EKS, Lambda, etc.) to ensure high availability.
- Implement cloud-native security and compliance practices.
- Establish monitoring and alert systems with CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK.
- Take charge of containerization projects using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS).
- Automate tasks using Python, Bash, and PowerShell.
- Collaborate across teams to embed DevOps practices.
- Drive incident response and release management.
- Ensure alignment with enterprise standards through the use of AWS Config, Security Hub, GuardDuty, and tailor-made conformance packs.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient knowledge in AWS CDK (Python), Terraform, and CloudFormation.
- Skilled in CI/CD, scripting languages (Python/Bash), and managing container orchestration.
- Proficient in handling AWS services encompassing VPC, EC2, RDS, EKS, Lambda, S3, IAM, CloudFront, Transit Gateway, Secrets Manager, and KMS.
- Experience with monitoring tools and observability strategies.
- Proficiency in Agile methodology, Git processes, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Proficient in Terraform and CloudFormation for IaC implementation.
- Practical involvement with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS) for container orchestration.
- Extensive experience in monitoring through CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK Stack.
- Capable of crafting proactive alerting and observability solutions.
- Deep understanding of IAM policies, encryption, and role-based access control.
- Experienced in integrating vulnerability scanning and compliance frameworks like SOC 2 and HIPAA.
- Proficient in the utilization of AWS security solutions like Security Hub, GuardDuty, and AWS Config.
- Effective communicator with strong collaborator engagement skills.
- Demonstrated skill in guiding junior engineers and advocating for DevOps guidelines.
- Proficient in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GitLab CI.
- Experienced with Azure and GCP cloud platforms.
- Solid grasp of cloud security guidelines.
- Analytical individual with a focus on addressing challenges.
