Zacharia Kiragu

I am a professionally trained Science teacher holding a Bachelor of Education (Science), Second Class Honours (Upper Division), from Mount Kenya University. I have hands-on teaching experience in both primary and junior secondary schools, where I have taught Biology, Chemistry, and Integrated Science.

I am fluent in Kiswahili and English, which allows me to communicate effectively in diverse, multicultural learning environments and support language development alongside subject instruction.

My teaching approach is learner-centered, inclusive, and practical, with a strong focus on conceptual understanding, critical thinking, and real-life application of scientific knowledge. I have experience preparing lesson plans aligned to curriculum standards, assessing learner progress, and supporting students with diverse learning needs.

Beyond classroom instruction, I actively contribute to co-curricular activities, mentorship, and community-based educational initiatives. I am adaptable, culturally aware, and open to international, remote, or hybrid teaching opportunities, including teaching assistantships, exchange programs, and education-focused roles.

I am particularly interested in roles that promote cross-cultural learning, global education, and innovative teaching practices, and I am motivated to continue growing professionally while making a meaningful impact on learners world
