At British Council Egypt, I lead the end-to-end Accounts Payable cycle alongside broader finance operations. I manage an environment handling approximately 3,000 invoices and around EGP 300M in payments annually.
I helped establish and stabilize the local AP function after activities had been handled by the global finance team. I also supported new team members as the team structure changed, maintaining service quality and operational continuity.
I reduced blocked invoices from dozens of open items to zero and maintained that result for at least five years. I improved payment visibility for around 200 vendors by introducing post-payment settlement breakdowns, and improved cheque processing by automating a manual control step.
My work also includes supporting month-end close, audits, cash-flow forecasts, and compliance. At British Council Egypt, I supported the separation of LLC and non-profit operations into two legal entities, including SAP configuration, system integration, e-invoicing, and withholding-tax compliance.
