At Petroleum and Energy Systems Research Centre, I assisted with energy projects involving data collection, analysis, and interpretation, and investigated environmentally friendly alternatives to synthetic surfactants for oil recovery. I also assessed well efficiency and evaluated how choke size affected production.
For my University of Benin research project, I contributed to developing a surfactant from locally sourced materials for EOR. I analyzed saponin samples and characterized them using FTIR; the plant-derived surfactant reduced surface tension from 72 mN/m to 39.2 mN/m.
