At ESCOM Limited, I lead finance operations through three direct reports and a 155-person directorate. I advise the CEO, Executive Management and Board on financial performance, budgets, funding, capital investment, liquidity and risk.
I led the recovery of a five-year statutory financial reporting backlog, including the related external audits, restoring current reporting by FY2025. I also led financial reconciliation and negotiations that contributed to resolving disputed energy-purchase bills totalling MK92.9 billion.
As executive sponsor and implementation leader for Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3 Budget Control and Commitment Accounting, I brought the system live in April 2026, alongside improved management reporting and Power BI KPI visibility. I also led the segregation of revenues and costs across five regulated electricity licence classes.
My work has included financial modelling and investment appraisals for electricity and development-partner programmes, including the World Bank/Government of Malawi electricity access programme and MCC Malawi Compact energy-sector activities. Earlier, at Graham Carr & Company, Certified Public Accountants, I performed audits and internal-control reviews and prepared financial statements and tax returns for SMEs and NGOs.
