Angela Thomas

At Software Freedom Law Center, I research content safety, platform enforcement, online abuse, misinformation, and emerging digital harms. I turn findings from the Free Speech Tracker and Internet Shutdown Tracker into policy interventions, enforcement recommendations, and accessible public guidance.

I investigate content and account enforcement matters, assess privacy and surveillance risks, and support sensitive escalations involving harmful or controversial content. My work spans intermediary liability, platform governance, AI governance, online gender-based violence, copyright, defamation, and digital safety.

Previously, at Mani, Chengappa & Mathur, I supported private equity, venture capital, due diligence, fund formation, and transaction documentation. I’ve also contributed to technology, data protection, AI, fintech, e-commerce, cybersecurity, and cross-border regulatory work through law-firm internships.
