At Fort Valley State University’s Department of Agricultural Sciences, I studied the effects of carbon nanotubes on okra seed germination and plant growth. I also worked with students on projects involving cold plasma and pulse UV light technologies, and trained students in microscopy techniques and research procedures.
As a Graduate Research Assistant, I extracted cellulose from energy cane bagasse and synthesized and characterized a cellulose-based hydrogel for cotton plant growth. I also collected, organized, and analyzed data from 200 stevia leaf samples and maintained and propagated turmeric tissue culture.
