Thank you for checking out my profile!
My name is Soren D'Alimonte. I've spent a good half of my life working in various industries, predominantly in music. Over the years I have worked a variety of jobs in customer service, food & beverage, facilitation, office administration, live event production, and delivery & logistics to name a few.
In my free time I have been teaching myself to code in order to challenge myself and to see if it may be a career path I'd like to venture into more. I always do my best to grow and learn new skills and never let myself become stagnant.
Having spent many years working in the arts I am also an experienced free-lancer and ran several small businesses, mainly as a private music instructor and a residential housecleaner. I found that my time being a small business owner helped me gather insight into many different aspects of management. I acquired skills in client acquisition and retention, time management among teaching classes and cleaning visits, and sending out and managing invoices. I also understood that a client's needs are ever evolving and require adaptation, such as adjusting lesson curriculum according to the student's learning abilities, managing availability for weekly/bi-monthly cleanings around my clients' own busy lives and families.
I am a self-motivated musician with a Bachelor of Music degree from Humber College. With over fifteen years of experience in Toronto's music industry, I have honed my skills in live show bookings, hiring musicians, event production, and grant applications. I have a proven track record of executing musical repertoire with a professional appearance and demeanor, resulting in repeated re-hiring from various collaborators.
I have over ten years working in a customer facing work environments. During my time as a Customer Service Supervisor at Lighthouse Immersive, I trained staff to provide exceptional customer service and managed daily operations of the department. I successfully handled escalated customer service complaints and problem-solved issues with professionalism and promptness.
As an Office Assistant at the Centre for Social Innovation, I troubleshooted issues with online programs and office equipment, managed office duties, and maintained confidentiality of sensitive data. Additionally, I developed strong interpersonal and communication skills, allowing me to provide excellent customer service and handle complaints effectively.
I also have experience as a Synchronous Learning Facilitator at Osgoode Law School, where I scheduled and hosted Zoom classes for instructors and customized services according to their teaching style.
