Business Controller

This role is offered on a 40 hour hybrid basis from Amsterdam office.

Your Mission

As our Business Controller, you will be a trusted business partner and work closely with regional leaders to evaluate regional P&L performance and with department heads to control spend and monitor its efficiency. You will support the monthly management and board reporting process and provide valuable business insights. Working close with the department heads, you will help build the annual budget that supports the business plan for 2025, and subsequently help the business monitor performance into 2025.

About the Team

You will be a part of Tellent’s finance organisation and will report to the VP of Finance. The whole finance team currently consists of a Financial Controller, Assistant Controller, three financial accountants/assistants, FP&A Analyst, Finance Manager PL, Financial Operations Specialist, VP of Finance and the CFO. This role will be alongside the FP&A Analyst in the FP&A arm of the finance team. The FP&A team is responsible for management and board reporting, business forecasting and the annual budget. They are a trusted business partner and work closely with department heads to control costs, assess spend and steer financial planning.

Your 12-month journey

During the first 3 months, you will familiarise yourself with the FY24 budget, the department level budgets and the quarterly re-forecasts. You will take over the monthly BvA process, building your relationships with department heads. You will manage the regional and product P&Ls, building relationships with regional leaders. You will start to put plans in place with these teams to improve cost control, to identify cost savings and efficiencies and how to improve performance analysis.

After 6 months, you will have worked closely with the department heads assessing their needs to achieve the plan for FY25. Using this information, you will build the cost base for the budget FY25, ensuring that planned spend is efficient and tied to results.

After 12 months, you will have successfully completed the annual budget process and set up the budget variance analysis cadence. You will have become a trusted finance business partner to the other departments.

• Supporting the annual budget process
• Support the business with analyses on strategic plans

What you'll bring to the team:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or other related field;
• 3-5 years of experience as a finance professional in a business controlling, FP&A, transaction services or corporate finance role within a dynamic, multinational, fast-paced environment.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel, Google Sheets and Google Slides.
• Financial modelling and analytical skills
• Presentation and storytelling skills.
• Fluent English skills, both written and verbal.
