Lead Plant Layout & Piping Engineer

You will be responsible for plants layout preparation, piping design and implementation of operability & maintainability requirements for applications such as on/off-shore gas compression/re-injection stations and power plants.

As a Lead Plant Layout & Piping Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Designing, developing, and implementing piping and layout plans for oil and gas projects, including onshore and offshore facilities.
  • Conducting feasibility studies and risk assessments for proposed piping systems to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including process engineers, mechanical engineers, structural engineers, and project managers, to integrate piping designs into overall project plans.
  • Providing technical expertise and guidance during the procurement process, including reviewing vendor proposals, and participating in bid evaluations.
  • Performing analysis and calculations to optimize piping design and performance.
  • Reviewing and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and other technical documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
  • Overseeing the preparation of material take-offs, cost estimates, and schedules for piping and layout activities.
  • Conducting site visits and inspections to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and provide technical support to field personnel as and when required.
  • Participating in project meetings and discussions to communicate progress, challenges, and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Mentoring junior engineers and providing training as needed to support their professional development.

Fuel your passion

  • Bachelor's degree or Masters in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in piping design and layout, with a focus on the oil and gas sector.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and piping design tools (e.g., Caesar II, Pipe stress).
  • Strong knowledge of industry codes and standards, including ASME, API, and ANSI.
  • Experience with 3D modeling software (e.g., Aveva E3D ,PDMS, PDS) for layout design and clash detection.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex piping issues.
