What You’ll Do: We are searching for a Senior Level Designer to join our core team developing a high quality AAA single-player story-driven action-adventure game built using the Unreal Engine. Our design team is small, and we want to expand it with someone capable of bringing both deep expertise in level layout and gameplay while also being able to work with a distributed team of internal and external artists and designers to get results. We only hire talented, collaborative people with strong communication skills who are laser focused on achieving excellent results.
In This Role, You Will:
- Work with a layout artist to plan and model environmental layouts based on design and art requirements
- Own pacing and scripting of the level
- Work with narrative to ensure the level embodies the relevant themes
- Collaborate closely and proactively with artists, programmers, animators and other game designers to craft the vision of your levels and game
- Participate in and iterate based on feedback from level play tests and reviews
- Work with the design team to provide feedback on and champion gameplay systems, conventions, and scenarios
We Are Looking For People Who:
- Preferred: 8+ years designing and scripting single-player levels for AAA games
- Have a passion for narrative and storytelling
- Eye for three dimensional spatial composition and architectural concepts
- Have relevant experience in Unreal and/or Unity, particularly fluency in Blueprints or Visual Scripting
- Iterate rapidly and effectively
- Communicate concisely and constructively
- Name Links / Notes Status References
- Take criticism and collaborate in a way that respects vision
- Thrive in a self-driven remote-work environment working with both the internal team and external partners
- Have an extensive understanding of AAA game level development
