ABOUT THE ROLE

The Marketing Associate reports to the Senior Marketing and Communications Manager, supporting the creation and implementation of Communications and Content to engage target audiences. Your main focus will be on potential and existing employer partners, you’ll play a pivotal role in building marketing activity in this space and have ownership of new initiatives and channels.

B2B marketing for us at Generation is all about reaching employers, educating them on Skills Bootcamps and the diverse talent pipeline we at Generation can provide to their organisation in order to generate and nurture high-quality leads for the Business Development team. Ultimately, successfully engaging more employers to recruit from our programmes allows us to support more people from underrepresented groups into life-changing careers through our programmes.

You will play a key role in shaping our marketing efforts, from delivering campaigns through to reviewing the results you generate, optimising and iterating efforts, as well as ongoing innovation to create more and more impact.

We are a UK registered charity, founded by McKinsey and Company, delivering tailored programmes to recruit, train and place unemployed people into work. Through our unique approach, we also solve a wide range of employer challenges—skilled talent shortages, poor job performance, lack of diversity, and high turnover.

Generation launched globally in 2015, and has grown quickly to become the world’s largest demand-led employment initiative. We have placed over 76,500 people into roles (many of whom have suffered some form of adversity), working with over 11,000 employer partners to date across 17 countries and 26 professions.

Generation UK&I is currently running training to employment programmes in the West Midlands, London, Manchester, Ireland, Leeds and Scotland. We run a range of tech bootcamps as well as programmes supporting people into healthcare and the Green sector.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Main areas of responsibility:

  1. The most important part of your role will be leading on the implementation of our B2B email marketing efforts including segmentation, optimisation and reporting – we use Insider and Outreach (Salesforce) for email marketing. Experience of these tools would be great, but we can show you the ropes!
  2. Assisting with ad-hoc applicant communications and automated communications journeys via Insider to help us encourage and nurture people through the application journey.
  3. Design social graphics, flyers and other assets needed by our Business Development and Outreach teams. Content platforms include Adobe, Canva or similar software
  4. Creation of short employer videos for use across all of our channels, these will consist of utilising existing content but also gaining new content with the help from colleagues across the organisation.
  5. Management of our organic presence on LinkedIn, creating and sharing regular posts that resonate with our B2B increasing engagement and reach on this channel on a monthly basis.

Experience:

And to succeed, we think you’ll need 1-2 years experience with

  • Social media management, preferably LinkedIn
  • Email marketing platforms and metrics

Additionally, we think it would be beneficial to have…

  • Experience of the education or employment sector
  • Experience working with employers and B2B marketing activities
  • Experience with Google suite (sheets, docs, slides etc.)
  • Experience of working remotely or in a hybrid setting
