👈 Who you are

You’ve successfully owned and led all of marketing – or at the very least all of demand generation – in a venture-backed B2B SaaS company. You’ve taken a marketing engine from nascent to repeatable and learnt tons of invaluable B2B SaaS marketing lessons along the way. You’re now looking to join an exciting tech startup/scale-up company where you can lead a small (5-10 people) marketing team, apply those hard-won lessons, and have a significant impact on the growth trajectory of that company!

📝 What you’ll do

As Head of Marketing, you’ll own all of marketing and have the following key responsibilities:

🧭 Setting company strategy and being part of our core leadership team

As Head of Marketing you'll be part of our core go-to-market leadership team that sets company strategy / objectives and allocates company resources. You'll be fully responsible for the marketing strategy to hit those objectives, reach the next level of market adoption, and achieve our company vision!

📊 Budgeting, planning and marketing operations

You’ll budget, model and plan for how to allocate marketing department resources to hit our objectives, by getting in the weeds with marketing operations / channel ROI data and collaborating with other leaders

📈 Growth marketing (paid, SEO, CRO, email)

You’ll be responsible for the growth / digital marketing team and its budget – leading our senior growth marketing manager to identify, test, manage, optimise and scale multiple channels. You’ll also co-ordinate efforts between product marketing, marketing ops, content and sales to produce and automate brilliantly effective email campaigns for lead generation/nurturing.

📰 Content marketing / advocacy

You’ll directly manage our Head of Advocacy – overseeing budget and execution of our industry-leading content, advocacy and events strategy (check out Converge 2024 for an idea of the exciting work this team does!)

📣 Product marketing

You’ll oversee our senior product marketer and work with our brand designer and web developer to take our product marketing strategy to the next level – this includes positioning, messaging, product launches, case studies, sales enablement and more!

💰 Sales pipeline generation

You’ll be responsible for generating predictable sales pipeline by driving MQLs/SQLs and collaborating closely with our Head of Sales to refine lead scoring, streamline lead handoff / automation and optimise lead conversion

⚙️Core skills

We’re looking for someone with most of the following key skills:

  • 8+ years in B2B SaaS marketing, with 3+ years in a marketing leadership role at a venture-backed B2B SaaS company
  • A recent track record of hitting quarterly marketing targets and driving sales pipeline
  • You’ve managed a marketing team for 3+ years and you've owned growth / digital marketing before – as well as ideally other marketing areas such as content/events, email, product marketing and marketing ops. For the functions you haven’t owned yourself, you were nonetheless deeply involved and know how it's done.
  • You’ve scaled a multi-channel demand generation engine successfully – ideally one you kick-started from scratch
  • You’ve owned and managed a $1m+ marketing budget and have experience modelling, forecasting, analysing and optimising ROI across multiple channels, proven and unproven
  • You've led teams to successfully find and validate entirely new channels using a data-driven experimental approach, and you know how to allocate budget for testing new channels
  • You have experience with data attribution/analysis methods such as multi-touch attribution, multi-variate and cohort analysis, and you’re well-versed in interpreting all kinds of channel experiment data and campaign reports
  • You’ve collaborated closely with other leadersand functions – in particular, with executive leaders to plan/budget, and with leaders in sales, marketing, product and customer success to align on hitting company objectives
  • Experience in a PLGSaaS company that combined PLG with a direct sales motion

💪 Bonus experience

  • Experience in the product / dev / design tooling industry i.e. experience marketing to developers, designers etc. ideally through advocacy and community-led growth
  • Experience with HubSpot as a marketing automation / reporting platform
  • Experience being directly responsible for sales pipelinecreation targets
  • Experience with internationalmarketing strategies and using localisation
  • Experience with marketing partnerships, co-marketing opportunities, sponsorships etc.
  • Experience using the latest AI tooling to maximise marketing impact

Increase adoption of your design system

Create a central hub for designers, engineers, product and marketing teams. Connect everyone working with your design system.

Our mission

We're building the world's first DesignOps company.

DesignOps tools enable companies to design and develop user experiences in a much more systematic way and deliver high quality UX 10x faster – our mission is to enable this on a global scale!

We've built a design system documentation product people love and thanks to this we've grown through word-of-mouth to 1000+ customers including multiple Fortune 100s. We're the market leader in our category, grew 3.5x in 2020 and have the backing of world-class investors like Y Combinator and Adobe. But design system documentation is just the beginning... we're now perfectly positioned to become the leader in DesignOps and transform how products are built. That's why we're expanding to the Bay Area in 2021 to fulfil our ambition of being a truly global company 🚀 🌍

Life at zeroheight

👨‍👩‍👧‍👧 We're a rapidly growing team of 11 friendly peeps (and counting!)

🇬🇧 🇺🇸 We're expanding to the SF / Bay Area in 2021 to fulfil our ambition of being a global company – this is something we're super excited about!

🤸‍♂️ We have a flexible work-from-home culture and offer flexible working hours – we value ownership and judge people by what they deliver, not how many hours we see each other in the office (pre, mid and post pandemic!)

🎨 We're super design-driven – we think outstanding design gives companies a competitive advantage so we take a lot of pride in the product we're building and listen very carefully to what our users want

🌱 Like many companies, we're all working remotely right now but during normal times our UK team is based in a lovely co-working space in London called Second Home – it's a unique, inspiring place with many, many plants, curved walls and a lovely community of people. And it has showers! We can't wait to go back :) SF / Bay Area location TBD!

🌮 We often eat lunch together (again, during normal times!)

😂 We're pretty light-hearted and don't take ourselves very seriously (we still do this despite being remote :P)

😴 We avoid long and/or unnecessary meetings and value asynchronous communication and uninterrupted periods of deep work to get things done

🎉 It's easy to always focus on the problem that's around the corner despite making great progress, so we make sure to celebrate small wins!
