Service Line Director- (Sourcing/Procurement - Prosthetics & Orthotics)

Summary:

In this role, you will oversee sourcing activities for assigned Care at Home categories (e.g., Prosthetics & Orthotics). You will develop and implement category management strategies, manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and establish metrics to assess total cost of care and savings performance. You support the evaluation and optimization of spend management opportunities across clients’ scope of work. Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze spend, establish competitive and sustainable fee structures, and implement cost-saving strategies, including unit cost reduction, inflation mitigation, and demand management. Lead initiatives and drive execution of cost-saving programs across key areas.

Responsibilities:

• Develops category/spend strategies for all key categories leveraging extensive knowledge of the markets, suppliers and stakeholder needs.
  • Own end to end delivery of business needs for categories under management.
  • Keep current on external and internal influences that may impact the larger organization, including Healthcare Reform, macroeconomic issues, etc.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key internal clients and suppliers.
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with internal clients across the business to gain buy-in and deliver value.
  • Identify and understand key initiatives of internal clients and short, medium, and long-term goals. Partnering with cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., Portfolio Leads, Sourcing, Procurement Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, etc.) to advance Category Management capabilities.
  • Lead RFP process and/or supplier negotiations and facilitates contracting to deliver strategic value.
  • Leverage appropriate negotiation strategies, tactics, and processes in line with situational demands.
  • Develop and execute RFPs to drive the strategic sourcing process.
  • Leverage analytics and insights to ensure data-driven decisions.
  • Analyze category spend to understand price drivers and trends while applying cost and supply market analytics to create category strategies.
  • Contribute to KP’s Sustainability and Environmental goals and serves as an advocate to further advance results in Environmentally Preferable Purchasing (EPP).

Qualifications:

• Relevant degree preferred; advanced degree desired.
  • 7 or more years of relevant experience required.
  • Experience in a combination of category management, purchasing, materials management, services contracting, finance or other related areas.
  • Experience in employing strategic souring methodology.
  • Experience in large contract negotiations.
  • Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
  • Healthcare (Claims) or Financial Services experience preferred.
  • Experience working in a project-based and unionized environment is preferred.
  • Professional certification such as C.P.M. or APICS preferred.

• Willingness to travel.
