Tax Department

The Accounting Tax team is responsible for tax compliance, audits, planning, and budgeting. Accounting Tax also works closely with various external tax advisors and internal departments such as construction, new site development (NSD), market strategy, operations, accounting, legal, treasury, capital markets, and financial analysis & planning (FPA) to strategize and obtain tax efficiencies for the Company. Our tax team works towards meeting corporate goals using various tax planning strategies. This approach empowers each member of the team to drive high- impact decisions and even more impactful result.

Position Overview

This role can be based in any of our US locations: Denver, CO; Phoenix, AZ; Santa Clara, CA; Ashburn, VA or Remote.

Vantage is seeking a detail-oriented, highly motivated, organized and communicative Tax Analyst – North America to join our fast-paced, high-growth organization. In this role, you will be a key driver of coordination, tracking, and documentation quality across tax workstreams—supporting deliverables related to income tax, property tax, tax credits & incentives, special projects and process improvements. You’ll partner closely with stakeholders across Accounting, FP&A, Legal, Development/Construction, Operations, and AP/Procurement to ensure tax inputs are complete, accurate, and timely.

Essential Job Functions

Coordination, Tracking & Deliverable Management

  • Own and maintain tax trackers, calendars, deliverable lists, and status reporting to ensure deadlines are met and workstreams stay aligned.

  • Coordinate cross-functional inputs and follow-ups (e.g., invoices, fixed asset/support schedules, project costs, entity details, property/site data).

  • Organize and maintain audit-ready documentation, including supporting schedules, email trails, and workpaper archives.

Compliance – Property Tax & Income Tax

  • Perform tie-outs and variance checks between source systems and tax workpapers (e.g., GL to supporting schedules).

  • Support preparation and review of workpapers by validating completeness, accuracy, and consistency of data.

  • Assist with reconciliations, rollforwards, and documentation packages used in filings, audits, and internal reviews.

  • Support income tax-related processes through data gathering, reconciliation, and workpaper organization (e.g., entity lists, attributes tracking, support for advisors).

  • Assist with tax workflows: tracking notices/deadlines, organizing jurisdictional documentation, compiling data requests, and supporting payment/assessment support as needed.

  • Help track and support tax credits & incentives: collecting project documentation, maintaining eligibility/support files, and assembling reporting packages.

  • Contribute to special projects tied to growth (new sites, acquisitions, entity changes, process improvements, and system enhancements).

  • Additional duties as assigned by management

Process Improvement & Technology:

• Streamline tax operations through process improvements and automation.

• Assist with implement tax software/tools to enhance accuracy, efficiency and collaboration.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field; CPA, MST or CMI preferred.

  • 3 years of accounting experience. Mix of public accounting and similar industry experience a plus.

  • Efficient with Office 365 in a Windows environment

  • Problem solving skills, communications skills and ability to deal with a variety of situations in a fast-paced environment

  • Comfortable working with technology, including learning new financial systems and supporting process improvements

  • Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision

  • Attention to detail and comfort maintaining clear and consistent financial documentation

  • Experience in the real estate/construction industry (preferred not required)

  • Experience with Yardi Voyager and tax software (preferred not required)

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines with strong attention to detail.

  • Self-starter, ability to operate independently in fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks at once.

  • Demonstrates a high degree of attention to detail and an ability to complete work accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Travel required is expected to be up to 10% but may increase over time as the business evolves

Additional Details

  • Salary Range: $100,000-$110,000 Base + Bonus (this range is based on Colorado market data and may vary in other locations)

  • Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including your qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
