The Team

Our stack consists of a Swift iOS app, Kotlin Android app, Vue.js frontend, Django / Python backend, ML recommendation-based microservice, and AWS/Netlify as our infrastructure, with a transition to Kubernetes-based deployments underway.

You ideally:

• Act like an owner, reacting quickly to issues and serving as a source of knowledge about security and infrastructure

• Care about good documentation and appreciate how it allows a distributed team to function

• Proactively identify risks for deployed applications, effectively communicating those and adjusting devops plans to achieve goals

• Constantly consider "How can I automate this process?"

• Deliver high quality results, exceeding you and your team’s commitments & expectations

• Have a knack for learning and adaptively handling tasks wherever needed

What You'll Do

• Support high-traffic applications, from our backend Django app to our Python ML microservice

• Holistically distill security requirements into tangible engineering tasks

• Collaborate with our backend team to secure & deploy resilient, performant applications on our container-based infrastructure

• Assist engineering teams in uncovering performance bottlenecks and security vulnerabilities

• Collaborate with all of engineering to implement metrics, tracing, and monitoring for our various platforms

• Be instrumental in the future development of our organization, scaling us from hundreds of thousands of users to hundreds of millions

What to Bring

• 6+ years of experience developing and supporting applications in a DevOps environment

• You put customers first; you’re comfortable working with critical, customer-facing issues and able to prioritize quickly when escalations happen

• Low ego, high EQ engineer, able to work collaboratively no matter the task at hand

• Knowledge of Python and operating Django applications in production

• Skilled in identifying performance bottlenecks, spotting anomalous system behavior, and determining the root cause of incidents

• Experience supporting distributed systems that leverage task queueing technologies like Celery

• Experience managing applications using container technologies, including: Docker, AWS ECS, AWS ECR, Kubernetes

• Experience working with database technologies, including: PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Redis

• Experience monitoring cloud environments using tools like Datadog, CloudWatch, and PagerDuty

• Experience supporting customer facing SaaS infrastructure or similar cloud related services

Salary:

Base Pay: $180,000-$220,000. 

Where you land in that range is dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience.

Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Untapped provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Eligible positions may be eligible for a Commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Additionally, Untapped provides best-in-class Benefits.
