What success looks like in this role:
1. Active Directory Management
- AD Objects Management and Security
- Manage User accounts, Groups and Permissions
- Group Policy Creation and Management
2. Server Management:
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining Windows servers, ensuring they run efficiently and securely.
- Patch Management: Applying software updates, patches, and service packs regularly to keep systems secure and functional.
- System Monitoring: Monitoring system performance using tools like Performance Monitor or third-party tools to ensure uptime and efficiency.
3. Automation
- Scripting knowledge and experience required
- Develop and Implement automation solutions through PowerShell or any other scripting tool.
4. Troubleshooting and Support
- Incident Response: Investigating and resolving technical issues, including server crashes, network issues, and application failures.
- Technical Support: Providing Level 2/Level 3 support for issues escalated from helpdesk staff, especially more complex issues related to Windows systems.
- Performance Optimization: Diagnosing and resolving performance bottlenecks and optimizing system configurations for improved performance.
5. Network Administration
- DNS/DHCP Management: Administering DNS and DHCP services to ensure proper network functioning.
- VPN Setup and Maintenance: Configuring and maintaining VPN services for remote access users.
- Network Troubleshooting**: Assisting with network diagnostics and ensuring Windows systems properly communicate over the network.
6. Virtualization
- Hyper-V/VMware Management: Setting up and maintaining virtual machines using Hyper-V or VMware, often in an on-premises or hybrid environment.
You will be successful in this role if you have:
- University degree or equivalent education and experience
- Minimum of 3 years relevant experience
- Microsoft Active Directory
- Need someone with a go getter attitude who can challenge themselves on how to do things better and easier
- Scripting skills are a must
- MCSE Certification a plus
- Ability to support multiple clients/ technologies
- Must be client focused, display interpersonal skills and be an effective team member.
