[Remote] Vendor Relations Specialist (waste management vendor/sourcing exp.) Description

Our client in the waste and recycling industry is looking for a Remote Vendor Relations Specialist to join their team in the US. You will be responsible for gathering data and conducting analyses on business performance, cost drivers, and opportunities for improvement. You’ll play a key part in supporting vendor insights, tracking market trends, and strengthening client relationships, while also assisting with documentation, compliance, and sustainability reporting. Aside from a vendor management background within waste management, they’re looking for candidates who value the flexibility of working from home but understand the discipline and sense of urgency that comes with it. [Remote] Vendor Relations Specialist (waste management vendor/sourcing exp.) Responsibilities

  • Analyze vendor activities, costs, forecasts, and operational performance
    • Manage vendor agreements, including service contracts, pricing updates, etc.
    • Oversee vendor and client onboarding processes
    • Document payment terms for forecasting and reporting
    • Review contracts and related documentation for accuracy and compliance
    • Oversee vendor and client onboarding processes
    • Perform data analysis, mining, and cost/benefit assessments
    • Evaluate findings and provide comprehensive reports to leadership team
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, merchants, and operational teams
    • Support fiscal reporting processes (monthly, quarterly, annually)
    • Conduct ad hoc analyses and support special projects as needed
    • Support operational improvements and make strategic recommendations

[Remote] Vendor Relations Specialist (waste management vendor/sourcing exp.) Qualifications

  • 3+ years of vendor management experience within waste management required
    • Well-versed negotiating and bidding with waste management/recycling haulers required
    Strong Excel and data analysis skills required
