Certificates and Licenses: Valid Texas Teacher Certification

Residency Requirement: This position is virtual and strongly prefer residents of Texas. May consider residents of surrounding states (NM, OK, AR or LA). This position could include travel up to 20% of the time for face-to-face professional development, student testing, and/or as required by the school.

Salary: Around $51K, plus eligibility for a performance-based bonus.

Start Date: School Year 26/27

The 504 Facilitator coordinates, supports, and manages all aspects of 504 programming to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations pertaining to persons with disabilities.

Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.

• Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure they are implementing the 504 Plan recommendations for success of students;

• Oversee development and implementation of 504 Plans on attainment of academic standards defined by the state;

• Collaborate with students/learning coaches on implementation of 504 plans;

• Evaluate and review student progress on a regular basis and annually.

• Facilitate 504 meetings timely and according to applicable protocols.

• Facilitate the revision of the 504 Plan goals as necessary and maintain 504 files, ensuring they are compliant with local and state regulations.

• Input student data in appropriate systems and maintain other student records as needed in a compliant manner.

• Participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings, professional development (virtual and face-to-face) and school committees.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or similar area of study AND

• Three (3) years of 504/IEP related work experience OR

• Equivalent combination of education and experience

Certificates and Licenses: Valid Texas Teacher Certification

OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Understanding of applicable sections of the state and federal education laws and other pertinent regulations

• Strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills both in-person and electronically

• Customer service oriented

• Able to read data and determine what steps are needed to assist students academically and behaviorally, as a whole and on an individual basis

• Demonstrates the use of good judgment in decision-making.

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook as well as Internet research methods and report writing techniques; utilizes computer software associated with curriculum.

• Ability to travel 20% time for work including to support in-person testing, meetings, and professional development.

• Ability to clear required background check including obtain fingerprint clearance.

DESIRED Qualifications:

• Valid Texas Principal Certification

• Experience teaching in an online (virtual) and/or brick and mortar environment
