Job Description

The Product Owner II – IT is responsible for maximizing the value of IT products and solutions by translating business needs into clearly defined prioritized work for Agile delivery teams. This role partners closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, and delivery leadership to ensure solutions meet user needs, align with enterprise standards, and support organizational objectives.

This is an experienced-level Product Owner role, operating with a high degree of autonomy and accountability across moderately complex systems or products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the product backlog for assigned BI products, platforms, or systems
  • Engage with product vendors to strengthen relationships and maximize product ROI
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand needs, outcomes, and priorities
  • Translate requirements into clear user stories with defined acceptance criteria
  • Prioritize backlog items based on business value, risk, dependencies, and capacity
  • Lead backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and product demos
  • Collaborate closely with Scrum Masters, Developers, Architects, and QA teams
  • Make day-to-day scope and trade-off decisions to maximize value delivery
  • Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture, security, and compliance standards
  • Monitor delivery progress and product performance using agreed-upon metrics
  • Continuously gather feedback to refine and improve product outcomes

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Product Development, or a related field.
  • 6-8 years of experience in a Product Owner, Product Analyst, or similar role
  • Hands-on experience working with Agile/Scrum delivery teams
  • Strong ability to elicit, document, and prioritize business and technical requirements
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience supporting enterprise IT systems or platforms
  • Familiarity with APIs, integrations, data flows, or cloud-based solutions
  • SAFe Product Owner / Product Manager, CSPO, or similar Agile certification, or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience working in regulated or security-conscious environments.
  • Business intelligence experience is preferred.
  • Experience with Tableau / Tableau Cloud and other data visualization toolsets strongly preferred.
