Reporting directly to the VP Fleet International, the Business Development Director – Fleet Solutions will play a critical role in helping to define and execute Solera’s next phase of Fleet growth across Europe, while continuing to expand and accelerate the UK business.

This role sits at a key inflection point for Solera Fleet. As new Fleet solutions are launched and existing offerings mature, the Business Development Director will help unlock the next level of growth by translating global Fleet strategy into measurable commercial outcomes across selected European territories. The role combines strategic input with direct, hands-on execution across new business acquisition, team leadership, and operational rigour.

The individual will bring deep knowledge of the commercial fleet and logistics landscape, with first‑hand experience of the buying, operating, and decision‑making dynamics of enterprise and strategic fleet customers. Success in this role requires strong credibility in the market, the ability to leverage existing industry relationships to open doors, and a willingness to remain personally engaged in high‑value commercial opportunities.

The role will hold direct responsibility for new revenue generation for key Fleet solutions, including SmartDrive & Protect Video Safety as well as Roadnet Anywhere (RNA), and will work closely with international sales leaders, product, and marketing to ensure consistent positioning, effective go‑to‑market execution, and rapid adoption across regions.

In addition to delivering growth, the Business Development Director will add structure, discipline, and scalability to the Fleet sales motion. This includes building and leading sales teams, (with agreed taregets and KPIs) (add full strategic and tactical visibility on salesforce) operating a robust pipeline and forecasting cadence, and ensuring that early customer wins are successfully onboarded and expanded.

The role will also collaborate across Finance, Operations, HR, and Marketing to enable sustainable and repeatable growth aligned with Solera’s broader International Fleet strategy.

What You’ll Do

  • Drive new business acquisition and revenue growth across the UK and selected European markets for Solera Fleet solutions
  • Contribute to the definition of regional Fleet strategy and execute it in alignment with global International Fleet direction
  • Build, lead, and develop a sales organisation focused on growth, including direct line management and matrix leadership of wider Solera sales
  • Personally engage in strategic and complex deals, leveraging industry relationships to accelerate access to enterprise and strategic fleet customers
  • Establish and run a disciplined pipeline management, from lead to conversion, forecasting, and conversion process, providing accurate and transparent reporting
  • Support the successful onboarding of new customers and collaborate with account management to enable early expansion and cross‑sell
  • Launch and scale new Fleet offerings within the existing and new customer base in line with agreed business priorities
  • Collaborate closely with Product and Marketing to influence solution evolution and ensure strong market positioning based on customer and regional insight
  • Monitor competitive market activity and customer trends to inform commercial tactics and growth initiatives
  • Lead recruitment, coaching, and performance management of sales talent, ensuring capability and capacity match growth ambitions

  • Proven people leader with experience building, developing, and leading high‑performing sales teams, including direct and matrix management models
  • Strong collaborator who works effectively across Sales, Product, Marketing, Finance, Operations, and International leadership teams
  • Deep credibility within the commercial fleet, transportation, and logistics ecosystem, with an established professional network that can be leveraged to open doors and accelerate access

Ways of Working

  • High level of personal accountability, resilience, and adaptability, particularly in periods of change or growth. Comfortable operating in environments where playbooks are evolving and structure is still being built
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to represent Solera credibly at executive, customer, and industry levels
  • Willingness to travel internationally (approximately 25%)
