Purpose:
The purpose of the Segment Manager is to lead the segment by establishing and implementing the growth strategy for the corresponding segment that is aligned with the franchise suppliers and also meets the financial needs of RCNA.
Areas of Responsibility / Tasks
Business Development:
- Supporting the sales team on growing sales within existing accounts by positioning the complete line card (to include new products or product lines as introduced).
- Supporting the sales team by identifying new potential customers within each sub-segments, and help determine best product opportunities for initial introduction and penetration (may vary by customer).
- Supporting the sale team by proactively supporting the closure of their opportunity pipeline.
Supplier Management/Product/Product Line Knowledge :
- Work with key and core suppliers to gain thorough understanding of product offerings and supplier strengths.
- Understand technical aspects of each product to best utilize internally and when having customer contact.
- Understand supplier’s goals for growth (may include specific product or application focus)
Supplier Evaluation:
- Provide feedback on which suppliers are key and core for the segment.
- Identify supplier or product gaps and recommend new potential products or suppliers.
Technical Support:
- Provide the sales team with basic technical support and application support related to the segment.
- Work with the marketing team on sales collateral to support the segment and product positioning.
- Travel with account managers and joint customer visits to support product/formulation projects with R&D.
- Support and coordinate supplier driven training for the sales team.
Segment Industry Participation:
- Be an active member in the trade organizations related to the segment and participate in regional and key trade shows.
- Identify market trends and potential growth areas within the segment and sub-segments.
- Understand and be aware of the regulatory changes driving the segment and the impact it could have on the business. Work with the regulatory team within RCNA as a resource.
Segment Profitability:
- Support the profitability strategy for the segment based on pricing discovery and market pricing and positioning the product line card.
Training and Presentations:
- Participate with internal and external training/presentations as required.
- Achieve growth and hit annual segment budgets by successfully leading the segment.
- Design and implement a strategic business plan that expands company’s customer base, strategic suppliers, and ensures that RCNA has a strong presence in the marketplace.
- Work with corporate team to set a positive tone between the sales team and operations.
- Review all supplier contracts prior to sending to Ravago legal.
- Build and promote strong, long-lasting supplier relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs and communicating those needs internally.
- Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status.
- Performs other similar and related duties as required

Minimum Qualifications/ Education / Experience / Certifications
- Bachelor's degree - required
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant work experience in similar title and scope of responsibility - required
- Microsoft suite: Outlook, Excel - Required (Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint preferred)
- Valid Driver’s License
- Passport – preferred
