About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced sales professional to join our utilities team. As the functional sales expert, you will be expected to partner with other members of the utilities practice and lead opportunities from the first meeting to go live, execute the playbook, manage internal processes, manage customer relationships, and above all, close deals. We want you to partner with the existing team and help them to close the existing pipeline, while you come up to speed on our products, value proposition, and the utilities industry. And, as you gain your footing and rolodex, you will be asked to cultivate and generate your own opportunities.

The right candidate will have at least seven years experience in enterprise sales coming from technology, data, consulting, or professional services. You will be interested in helping the team to grow, close deals, build scalable processes, and create a leading government technology platform. A passion for technology and payments is preferred. If you know utilities, even better. Your target audience will be executives, heads of departments, board and council members, and local politicians. You will need to be consultative, curious, solutions-oriented, likable, and assertive when necessary. You’ll need IQ and EQ to make this work.

We are looking for someone with a proven track record of success in similar industries or with similar products. The position will report to the Head of Utilities.

You Will:

  • Learn the product and devise the best way to close deals

  • Help build the playbook for the sales team

  • Partner with other members of your pod and quarterback the deals

  • Build, nurture, manage, and close pipeline and deals

  • Create sales processes and infrastructure

  • Manage customer relationships

  • Provide valuable customer insight and feedback to other teams

  • Obsess over the right details

  • Become a trusted advisor both internally and externally

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in enterprise sales

  • Strong preference for technology or payments experience

  • Strong teamwork, written, and oral communication and negotiation skills

  • Loves to and has great skill in crafting solutions

  • Understands how to fit company product with market needs and sell value

  • Trained in solutions-oriented sales but can also demonstrate challenger sales methodology

  • Ability to develop executive-level relationships
