The Product Marketing Manager Role
The person in this role will play a critical role in building out the Product Marketing function at Petal. The focus of this role is to deeply understand our customers, deliver insights that will be implemented across the product lifecycle, and communicate the value of Petal’s products to our target audiences. Using a data driven approach, coupled with a customer-centric mindset, you will design marketing and communication strategies that position our products to best meet our customers’ needs, resulting in product adoption, engagement, and retention.
Partner with Product Management and marketing Channel Managers to develop communications plans and oversee Go To Market strategy for new products and features
Write briefs to communicate to key stakeholders the objective, audience, key message, and key performance indicators of new marketing assets
Develop a strong understanding of the credit card ecosystem and competitive landscape to uncover insights and inform the product and marketing roadmap
Conduct research and gather insights to identify and address the needs of our customers
Become an expert on our product features and how our target audiences will use them
Develop and test new messaging and product positioning
Measure brand health through metrics including NPS, feature engagement, feedback & ratings, etc.
Characteristics of a successful candidate:
4+ yrs of professional experience; 2+ yrs of product marketing
Highly collaborative; thrives when working cross-functionally
Organized and skilled at project management; strong attention to detail
Analytical; experienced at using data to measure performance and support decision making
Self starter with a “get it done” mentality
Adept at managing and prioritizing across multiple responsibilities
Strong communication & writing skills, including brief writing
Nice to haves:
Experience in the fintech industry
Experience in B2C product marketing
Experience with Looker and/or extracting and analyzing data from business insights tools
