Position Description:
We are looking for an experienced Senior Platform Engineer to enhance our software delivery processes and prepare our platform for massive scalability. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud architectures, automation, and continuous integration and delivery practices. You will play a key role in automating our operations, optimizing our deployment workflows, and ensuring our infrastructure can handle large-scale operations. The compensation for this role includes a base salary range of $100,000–$150,000, eligibility bonus, and equity, with the final package determined based on experience.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, scale, and maintain our AWS-based infrastructure using Kubernetes, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery.
- Automate build, test, and deployment phases using Jenkins, Github, GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, and other automation tools.
- ollaborate with development teams to optimize code deployment processes in Node.js, Java, React, and Next.js environments.
- Enhance system monitoring and alerts using advanced observability and monitoring tools.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Ensure security best practices and compliance are followed in all DevOps processes.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior Platform engineers.
- Provide expertise on system scalability and assist in designing architectures that support growth and performance.
- Drive initiatives to improve reliability, efficiency, and quality of our development and deployment processes.
- Mentor junior Platform Engineer team members and promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in Platform Engineering or related roles.
- Extensive experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, or GitLab.
- Strong proficiency in AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, SQS, SNS, etc.).
- Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or similar.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure as code (IaC) principles and tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies.
- Experience with hybrid cloud environments and multi-cloud strategies.
- Experience with WebRTC or similar technologies is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to resolve issues.
