ABOUT THE ROLE
As one of the first finance hires, we are looking for an experienced Accountant and Analyst to play a key role in building the finance and accounting team at Monograph. This individual will report to and work closely with the Chief of Staff on all aspects of FP&A, modeling, forecasting, strategic initiatives and more.This role will be responsible for period-end closing functions, preparation of financial statement reports and general ledger reconciliations, and partnering with external accountants to resolve any accounting or tax matters that may arise. This position will work cross-functionally across departments, including: product, marketing, sales and customer experience to provide critical financial support that empowers our leaders to make sound, data-driven decisions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead our monthly financial reporting process, including P&L, BS and CF, as well as financial dashboards and KPIs
Responsibilities include preparing journal entries and account reconciliations ( cash, prepaid, accruals, payroll, and commissions).
Own Accounts Payable, including onboarding and offboarding vendors and contractors, inputting bills and consolidating spending.
Assist with variance analysis, analytical review of statements
Establish, document, and maintain accounting policies and internal controls
Partner with external tax accountants to manage tax filings and compliance.
Develop, plan and coordinate expense and headcount planning, forecasting and reporting in partnership with the leadership team.

Be the financial lens into key projects across the business:
Facilitating transaction volume of our architect clients
Software pricing and packaging
REQUIREMENTS
BA/BS in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred.
3+ years professional accounting experience with a top public accounting firm or mid-to-large size company
Strong knowledge of accounting theory, principles and practices to include GAAP, SaaS accounting, ASC 606: Revenue Recognition, Unbilled Revenue, etc.
Comfort in the startup environment and able to create structure and foundational processes
Experience in the core financial stack of Sheets/Excel, QBO, Stripe, Ramp/Brex.
Highly organized with the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and changing priorities in a very fast-paced, challenging environment, as well as working effectively as part of a team
Outstanding written and oral communication skills, with a developed attention to detail and accuracy.
