Software Engineer 2 - Backend (Freelance)

Job Description:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable backend systems for thousands of businesses.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-tested code in Go.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features that delight out customers.
• Participate in troubleshooting and debugging complex issues in production environments.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.

Requirements:

• At least 2 years of experience developing and maintaining Go service in production environment.
• At least 2 years of experience working in an engineering team of a software product company (plus point if coming from a SaaS Company).
• Good understanding of modern software engineering practices such as TDD, continuous integration, code review, and microservices design patterns.
• Good knowledge and experience in scalable and high performance system especially in containers and container orchestration (i.e. Kubernetes/Docker Swarm).
• Familiarity with software development methodologies and frameworks such as Agile or Scrum.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with a focus on collaboration, understanding, and information sharing between team members and stakeholders.

Freelance Period: 6 months

Working Arrangements for This Position:

• 18-24 days in office / quarter.
• Minimum 5 days in office / month.
• 40 hours a week (documented via timesheet/work log).
• Semi-flexible working hours, need to be reachable from 9am - 6pm.
• Expected to be reachable if there's a production incident for the feature you develop.
• Will prioritize candidates who are able to join immediately.
