This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Staff Software Engineer (Fullstack) in the United States.
As a Staff Software Engineer, you will be at the forefront of building next-generation distributed data storage and processing systems. You will design scalable, high-performance solutions that serve a wide range of consumers, from web applications to business analytics and AI systems. This role requires both technical depth and leadership, as you will mentor engineers, influence architecture decisions, and shape product strategy. You will contribute to the evolution of robust, maintainable, and cleanly abstracted codebases while ensuring engineering best practices are followed. Working in a collaborative, cross-functional environment, you will help drive innovation and deliver impactful solutions that meet complex business needs.
Accountabilities
- Design, develop, and deploy highly scalable and performant distributed systems.
- Build and maintain full-stack applications, ensuring clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
- Define and uphold engineering standards and processes to ensure high-quality development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate complex requirements into technical solutions.
- Mentor and coach engineers, supporting their growth and fostering a culture of technical excellence.
- Participate in architectural discussions, code reviews, and feature planning to guide technical direction.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and other automation tools to support software delivery.
Requirements
- BS/BTech (or higher) in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 8+ years of production-level experience building highly scalable systems.
- 4+ years of experience making technical decisions in a team environment.
- Strong experience with SQL or other database querying languages on large, multi-table datasets.
- Expertise in server-side web technologies such as Python, Java, Scala, C#, C++, Go (Python preferred).
- Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization/orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience designing and developing APIs, as well as building CI/CD pipelines.
- Proven ability to mentor and guide engineers, contributing to team growth and knowledge sharing.
- Familiarity with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, Vue.js).
- Knowledge of security and handling sensitive data is highly valued.
Preferred Skills:
- 8+ years developing full-stack web applications within cross-functional teams.
- Experience with Kafka or other event streaming platforms.
- Knowledge of healthcare software standards and regulatory compliance.
- Experience building platform-level systems as an evolution of bespoke software.
