This role is ideal for a seasoned network security professional who thrives in leading high-performing teams and managing enterprise-wide network security operations. You will oversee the availability, reliability, and security of critical network infrastructure, including firewalls, load balancers, routers, switches, WAFs, and remote access technologies. The position requires strategic leadership in engineering, operations, and incident management, along with collaboration across cross-functional teams and vendors. You will drive initiatives to enhance security posture, optimize network performance, and ensure compliance with internal and client requirements. This fully remote role offers the opportunity to manage 24/7 operational support, lead complex projects, and implement proactive strategies to safeguard network infrastructure. Strong communication, mentorship, and technical expertise are essential to succeed in this position.
Accountabilities:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of network security engineers, promoting a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee design, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise network security infrastructure, including firewalls, WAFs, load balancers, routers, switches, wireless access points, and remote worker technologies.
- Serve as primary escalation point for critical network incidents, including 24/7 support, incident resolution, and root cause analysis.
- Manage network security projects from strategy and scope definition to execution, including vendor and partner relationships, budget oversight, and project timelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align network security initiatives with organizational objectives.
- Develop and maintain monitoring metrics, ensuring optimal network performance and reliability.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, client obligations, and regulatory requirements through audits, assessments, and vulnerability management initiatives.
- Implement automation and redundancy measures to improve resilience and reduce manual intervention.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience; advanced certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CCNP are a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience leading network and engineering teams, including architecture and strategic planning.
- At least 5 years’ experience designing and implementing enterprise network security solutions.
- Deep knowledge of network security products, including firewalls, WAFs, load balancers, DDOS protection, and microsegmentation.
- Strong understanding of networking products, including routers, switches, and wireless technologies.
- Proven ability to communicate complex security concepts to technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.
- Experience with enterprise systems, cloud solutions, IT/security technologies, and risk management.
- Demonstrated business analysis, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in high-pressure environments.
- Self-starter with strong leadership presence and ability to drive initiatives and accountability across teams.
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotations for 24/7 network support as required.
