As a Software Engineering Manager, you will lead and scale a high-performing engineering team, driving the design, development, and deployment of innovative software solutions. You will be responsible for guiding multiple SCRUM teams, overseeing both backend and frontend initiatives, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software. This role requires balancing hands-on technical leadership with strategic planning, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration. You will work closely with product, design, and executive teams to align engineering efforts with business goals while fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and operational rigor. Accountabilities
- Lead, mentor, and grow multiple engineering teams, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and technical standards.
- Oversee the design, architecture, and implementation of software projects across backend, frontend, and cloud platforms.
- Ensure code quality, scalability, maintainability, and performance throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, designers, and executives to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Manage project planning, estimation, delegation, and progress tracking for multiple SCRUM teams.
- Monitor engineering metrics, drive process improvements, and implement data-driven approaches to optimize team performance.
- Provide strategic input on technology architecture, platform choices, and development practices.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in software development, with 3+ years in a leadership role (Engineering Manager, Tech Lead, or similar).
- Proven ability to hire, mentor, and scale high-performing engineering teams.
- Strong backend development skills in C#/.NET, Java, Go, Python, or Node.js, and experience with database technologies (SQL/NoSQL).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure or AWS) and associated services such as IoT Hub, Functions, App Service, Service Bus, Blob Storage, etc.
- Experience with microservices, event-driven architecture, distributed systems, and IoT platforms.
- Proficiency with frontend frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue.
- Deep understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, estimation, delegation, and testing practices (unit/integration tests).
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strategic mindset with experience managing multi-disciplinary teams and cross-functional collaboration.
- Customer-oriented with strong relationship management, change management, and decision-making capabilities.
