This role provides a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of highly scalable and reliable backend systems that process large volumes of real-time data. You will work in a fully remote, collaborative environment alongside a cross-functional team of engineers, product managers, and designers. The position emphasizes both research and development, focusing on building robust distributed systems, APIs, and data pipelines while optimizing performance and efficiency. Accountabilities
- Develop and maintain backend systems that enable reliable, scalable operation of distributed software platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate feature requirements into technical designs and implementable code.
- Write, test, and maintain robust, high-quality code to deliver customer value.
- Develop automated tests and comprehensive test plans to ensure functionality and reliability.
- Introduce performance improvements and optimize existing processes across software products.
- Participate in on-call rotations to support SaaS products and address incidents as needed.
- Champion engineering best practices, teamwork, and a customer-focused mindset.
Requirements
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent, with 2+ years of professional software development experience; MS preferred.
- Hands-on experience contributing to production software across multiple projects.
- Experience with enterprise software deployment in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Strong knowledge of backend programming using NodeJS, TypeScript, or JavaScript.
- Experience building and using production APIs (REST, RPC) and handling real-time data streams.
- Familiarity with testing frameworks such as Playwright, Codecept, Mocha, Cypress, or Jest.
- Experience in fast-paced, startup or Agile environments with remote or hybrid teams.
- Ability to respond effectively to incidents, including participation in production on-call rotations.
- Knowledge of data transformation, telemetry, logs, metrics, and observability best practices.
