Senior Staff Engineer, Data Science

This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead data science initiatives and deliver advanced analytical solutions across complex projects. You will work on end-to-end data science processes, from data analysis, visualization, and modeling to deployment, leveraging machine learning and AI technologies. The position involves mentoring team members, guiding technical decisions, and driving innovation in areas like generative AI, natural language processing, and recommendation systems. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality, scalable, and impactful solutions. This is a highly visible role where your expertise will shape data-driven strategies and enhance decision-making across the organization.

Accountabilities

• Lead and review high-quality code for data science projects, ensuring accuracy, scalability, and maintainability.
• Analyze functional requirements and client needs to design robust, end-to-end data solutions.
• Envision and implement solutions for functional and non-functional requirements, selecting appropriate technologies, frameworks, and patterns.
• Coordinate application development by managing requirements, schedules, and activities.
• Support UAT and production rollouts, including troubleshooting and resolving complex issues.
• Conduct POCs to validate design choices and ensure technology solutions meet project goals.
• Mentor and empower team members, providing constructive feedback and fostering a collaborative environment.
• Address setbacks and challenges with a continuous improvement mindset, encouraging innovative problem-solving.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 9+ years of professional experience in data science and analytics.
• Strong foundation in statistics, probability, and data analysis/visualization techniques.
• Experience with SQL, Python or R, and machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or JAX.
• Expertise in classification, regression, forecasting, unsupervised models, recommendation systems, NLP, optimization, and model deployment.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP for data science projects.
• Experience in prompt engineering, RAG, and generative AI.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
