This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Security Platform Engineer in the United States.
This role offers the opportunity to architect, operate, and optimize secure, scalable systems that support security detection, observability, and response across a cloud-native platform. You will lead initiatives to embed security into development and operational workflows, mentor peers, and influence engineering practices across multiple teams. This position balances hands-on technical work with strategic ownership, enabling you to shape the reliability, performance, and security posture of core infrastructure. You will work closely with platform and product leaders to guide roadmaps, define policy-as-code frameworks, and ensure systems meet both technical and compliance requirements. Collaboration, mentorship, and thought leadership are key aspects of this role, giving you the chance to elevate security practices organization-wide.
Accountabilities:
- Architect multi-region, multi-account telemetry systems for secure ingestion, storage, and analysis of security data.
- Define and enforce access controls and separation of duties in CI/CD and infrastructure workflows.
- Lead design and implementation of policy-as-code frameworks and pipeline guardrails.
- Establish service-level objectives (SLOs), manage capacity planning, and optimize performance of security systems.
- Provide technical leadership in incident response and post-incident reviews for complex issues.
- Mentor engineers on secure platform practices and review contributions for architectural integrity.
- Drive security initiatives embedded in developer workflows, including secrets management, test isolation, and ephemeral environments.
- Collaborate with leadership to align engineering efforts with long-term security objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- 6+ years of professional experience in security engineering, cloud infrastructure, or platform reliability.
- Proven experience designing and leading large-scale secure systems in cloud-native environments (AWS preferred).
- Advanced knowledge of cloud security best practices and compliance frameworks (SOC 2, PCI DSS, CIS Benchmarks, AWS Well-Architected Framework).
- Expertise in Kubernetes security, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform).
- Strong troubleshooting, monitoring, and incident management skills in distributed systems.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to mentor and influence cross-functional teams.
- Ability to pass background checks for access to sensitive information.
Benefits
- Competitive salary range: $160,000 – $175,000 per year.
- Remote-first work environment with flexibility.
- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
- Retirement savings and employer contribution plans.
- Paid time off and company holidays.
- Professional growth, mentorship opportunities, and a collaborative culture.
- Inclusive and innovative work environment fostering continuous improvement and experimentation.
