As Senior Manager of Engineering, you will lead a high-performing consumer-facing product engineering team during a pivotal growth phase. You will rebuild and expand a talented team while collaborating closely with product leadership to deliver exceptional, high-quality user experiences that impact millions of users. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with strategic oversight of engineering practices, delivery processes, and AI-driven innovations. You will drive execution excellence, champion engineering best practices, and mentor team members to foster professional growth and high morale. Your work will directly influence key consumer journeys, from discovery to personalization, enhancing product impact and revenue. Operating in a remote-first environment, you will help shape engineering culture while supporting collaboration across design, product, and data teams.
Accountabilities
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Partner closely with Product to translate vision into actionable roadmaps and deliver high-impact features.
- Establish and maintain engineering processes that balance quality, speed, and predictability in product delivery.
- Advocate for team well-being and professional development, creating a safe, inclusive, and motivating environment.
- Drive technical excellence by promoting best practices in code quality, testing, documentation, and deployment.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, and Data teams to make informed, customer-centric decisions.
- Contribute strategically to long-term planning, technical decisions, and process improvements across the organization.
Requirements
- 5+ years of engineering management experience leading product-focused teams.
- Proven ability to build strong, effective teams and drive measurable performance improvement.
- Experience partnering with Product Managers to balance ambition with feasibility.
- People-first leadership style with strong communication skills, team health focus, and psychological safety.
- Solid technical background with credibility in architectural and implementation discussions.
- Comfort making decisions with imperfect information and iterating quickly in partnership with Product and Design.
- Experience managing cross-functional stakeholder relationships and navigating competing priorities.
- Continuous improvement mindset with a track record of optimizing team efficiency and delivery processes.
