Senior Critical Infrastructure Engineer

This role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact, mission-critical infrastructure projects supporting global data center operations. You will help design, implement, and maintain resilient and scalable infrastructure standards across multiple locations, ensuring operational excellence and consistent delivery of advanced technologies such as liquid cooling, high-density racks, and AI-driven cloud-compute systems. This position involves close collaboration with internal and external teams, the evaluation of site-specific designs, and the creation of global strategies to optimize efficiency and customer requirements. With a mix of domestic and international travel, you will influence the development of future-ready data centers, contributing to both technical innovation and business growth. The role emphasizes problem-solving, design validation, and the ability to document and implement engineering standards globally.

Accountabilities:

• Develop and maintain global design standards for colocation and mission-critical data centers.
• Support deployment of new infrastructure solutions, including high-density systems and advanced cooling technologies.
• Review and validate site-specific designs, identifying deviations and documenting approved changes.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to implement consistent, cost-efficient solutions globally.
• Decompose complex engineering challenges into practical, deployable solutions.
• Create, update, and manage design guides, specifications, standards, and operational procedures.
• Travel domestically and internationally to support project implementation and operational oversight (approx. 35%).

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or a closely related engineering discipline, or equivalent military/industry experience.
• 3–6 years of experience in mission-critical facilities, including data centers, power generation, oil/gas, or other high-reliability infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of critical data center equipment such as generators, UPS, switchgear, transformers, chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, and fire detection/suppression systems.
• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical design codes, including SPOF considerations, and familiarity with safety regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
• Proven ability to develop and document engineering standards, processes, and procedures.
• Experience participating in root cause analysis and incident management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to travel internationally and domestically as required.

Preferred:

• Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
• Experience with large, global data center providers.
• Advanced problem-solving and design implementation skills for emerging technologies.
