This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Program Manager (DoD STED Program) in the United States.
The Program Manager will lead and oversee the Department of Defense Sustainable Technology Evaluation and Demonstration (STED) Program, supporting mission-critical projects that advance emerging resilient technologies. This role involves managing programmatic and technical aspects, supervising teams, and ensuring projects meet cost, schedule, and performance objectives. You will work closely with military commands and program offices to strengthen client relationships, expand program participation, and drive strategic growth. The position requires a strong focus on program execution, contract management, and resource alignment, while promoting innovation and transition of technologies into operational use. You will also mentor team members, contribute to business development, and ensure compliance with DoD requirements. This role is ideal for a highly skilled leader who thrives in complex, technical, and mission-driven environments.
Accountabilities:
- Manage all programmatic and technical aspects of the DoD STED Program, ensuring successful execution and adherence to objectives.
- Oversee program and contract performance, including budgeting, P&L, and resource allocation.
- Maintain and expand relationships with military commands, Program Executive Offices, and Program Management Offices.
- Lead program reviews to monitor cost, schedule, and technical performance, identifying corrective actions as needed.
- Contribute to business development, including client engagement, proposal development, and identification of growth opportunities.
- Apply organizational methodology, policies, and procedures to minimize program risk.
- Mentor and develop program staff, supporting career growth and team effectiveness.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with 10 years of professional experience, or Master’s degree plus 8 years, or PhD plus 6 years.
- Prior experience working with US Special Operations Forces, USSOCOM Program Management Offices, or Combat Commands.
- Demonstrated success managing mid-size to large DoD programs and leading cross-functional teams.
- Proven client engagement and relationship management skills.
- Ability to interpret technical requirements and communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats.
- US Citizenship with the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
- Familiarity with U.S. Navy, Army, Air Force, or Marine Corps systems and commands preferred.
- Experience in evaluating and transitioning technologies into DoD programs is highly desirable.
- Special Forces background and prior strategic planning experience are additional advantages.
