This role is designed for an experienced packaging professional ready to lead complex projects from concept through commercialization. You will apply deep technical expertise in PET, resins, and high-speed filling and blowing equipment to optimize packaging solutions for beverage products. The position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, global vendors, and stakeholders to drive performance, cost efficiency, and innovation. You will oversee testing and qualification protocols, provide technical guidance, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. This role offers significant influence over packaging strategy and the chance to contribute to sustainable, high-impact solutions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Accountabilities:
- Lead multiple complex packaging projects with minimal oversight, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
- Develop, execute, and analyze packaging qualification activities, authoring detailed reports.
- Drive improvement and standardization of packaging across existing and new products, focusing on performance, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability.
- Provide technical expertise for risk assessments, failure mode analysis, and problem resolution during product development.
- Maintain ongoing communication with global teams and packaging vendors to support initiatives and drive efficiency.
- Influence internal and external stakeholders to implement meaningful, lasting packaging improvements.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings or optimization in new and on-market products.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering; advanced degrees or certifications preferred.
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in beverage packaging, with subject matter expertise in PET, resins, and high-speed equipment.
- Advanced knowledge of the full packaging development and qualification process, stage gate methodology, and FDA/ISO requirements.
- Proficiency with technical drawings, specifications, MS Office/Project, and familiarity with C.A.P.E./TOPS palletization software.
- Strong project management, resource planning, and timeline development skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently across multiple initiatives.
- Willingness to travel 50–70% of the time.
