- Design and implement batch and real-time data pipelines using modern orchestration and streaming frameworks.
- Establish best practices for metadata management, data cataloging, lineage tracking, and data quality across multiple systems.
- Define and enforce data governance, security, and access control standards in line with enterprise and regulatory requirements.
- Mentor engineers and review solutions to ensure architectural consistency and maintainability.
- Serve as a technical advisor in client engagements, providing guidance on best practices, trade-offs, and solution adoption.
Requirements
- 8–10 years of progressive experience in software engineering and data platform development, including 5+ years architecting data platforms on GCP or Databricks.
- Proven experience designing and deploying Data Lakehouse platforms with medallion architecture and data product frameworks.
- Expertise in real-time and batch data ingestion patterns, ETL/ELT pipeline design, and orchestration tools such as Airflow or Pub/Sub.
- Strong skills in data modeling, storage optimization, partitioning, and performance tuning for large-scale analytical workloads.
- Hands-on experience implementing data governance, security, and cataloging solutions (e.g., Dataplex, Data Catalog, IAM).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities in cross-functional teams, balancing strategic architecture with hands-on delivery.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with Databricks (Delta Lake, Unity Catalog) and hybrid GCP-Databricks architectures.
- Strong problem-solving mindset, curiosity for emerging technologies, and ability to navigate between high-level architecture and detailed implementation.
Benefits
- Competitive salary: $200,000 - $220,000 per year.
- Comprehensive health insurance coverage.
- Paid leave, holidays, sick leave, parental leave, and bereavement leave.
- 401(k) employer match.
