Principal AI Engineer (Remote - India)

As a Principal AI Engineer, you will design, develop, and deploy cutting-edge AI solutions that address complex business challenges. You will lead the full lifecycle of AI projects, from problem analysis and data engineering to model deployment and performance monitoring. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, including product managers and other engineers, to ensure solutions align with business objectives and enhance user experience. You will work with large, complex datasets, build scalable machine learning models, and implement robust AI systems that are production-ready. Accountabilities:

• Develop and deploy innovative, scalable AI and machine learning solutions to solve complex business problems.
• Lead end-to-end AI projects, from analyzing requirements to deploying production-grade systems.
• Design efficient data processing pipelines and manage large, complex datasets.
• Collaborate with AI engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to ensure solutions meet business needs.
• Implement robust machine learning models and maintain high-quality AI services.
• Stay updated on the latest AI/ML advancements and prototype new approaches to address challenges.
• Document AI solutions clearly and concisely for technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Deep expertise in machine learning, natural language processing, and large language models (LLMs).
• Strong foundation in statistical modeling, probability, and linear algebra.
• Experience curating datasets, training models, evaluating post-deployment performance, and developing robust metrics.
• Proficiency in Python and high standards for production-ready, maintainable, and testable code.
• Experience with Docker, cloud infrastructure (AWS), and scalable AI system design.
• Strong technical leadership and ability to manage open-ended projects independently.
• Excellent communication skills for engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Preferred: experience with NLP for legal applications, Terraform, and front-end frameworks like React or Node.js.
