In this role, you will be responsible for modernizing legacy data systems, converting Microsoft Access databases into robust .NET and XML solutions. You will design, develop, and optimize ETL scripts to ensure smooth data migration, validation, and integration into enterprise applications. Collaborating closely with data architects and system engineers, you will analyze existing workflows and business logic to replicate or improve processes. This position offers the opportunity to work in a mission-critical, secure environment, applying technical expertise to support federal or DoD systems while enhancing the efficiency, security, and maintainability of data management solutions.
Accountabilities:
- Develop and maintain .NET scripts and applications to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from Microsoft Access databases.
- Convert legacy database structures, relationships, and workflows into XML schemas and files for ingestion into new systems.
- Analyze Access forms, queries, and macros to replicate or optimize business logic in .NET.
- Collaborate with data architects and system engineers to ensure accurate data migration, validation, and integration.
- Write and maintain technical documentation for scripts, data models, and workflows.
- Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and performance optimization of .NET code and XML outputs.
- Ensure adherence to security and coding standards for federal and DoD environments.
Requirements
- Experience supporting federal or DoD systems and working in secure, mission-critical environments.
- Proficiency with .NET development, including scripting and data manipulation.
- Familiarity with ETL tools, PowerShell, and XML (validation, namespaces, and schema evolution).
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills in Visual Studio.
- Knowledge of secure coding practices and handling sensitive or classified data.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts clearly.
