This role offers the opportunity to design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable backend systems that support mission-critical healthcare applications. You will work with cloud-based architectures, primarily in Azure, and utilize microservices frameworks to deliver high-performance, reliable solutions. The position requires solving complex technical challenges, optimizing system performance, and implementing secure, maintainable code. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product, design, and QA, to ensure solutions meet business and customer needs. Accountabilities:
- Architect, design, and implement complex backend workflows using Azure services, microservices, and messaging platforms.
- Develop and maintain Web APIs, business logic, and data access layers following best practices.
- Write unit and functional tests to ensure code quality, maintainability, and reliability.
- Author and optimize SQL Server schemas and stored procedures.
- Participate in agile processes, including story grooming, estimation, and acting as a rotating scrum master.
- Identify and resolve performance, scalability, and security issues in production and development environments.
- Review and provide feedback on team code to maintain high engineering standards.
- Advocate for effective tools, frameworks, and processes to enhance development efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in C#/.NET development with strong object-oriented programming skills.
- Expertise in designing and developing RESTful APIs, microservices, and cloud-native applications.
- Experience with Azure App Services, Functions, Service Bus, APIM, Key Vault, App Configuration, and Application Insights.
- Proficiency with SQL, Entity Framework Core, and relational database design.
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software development workflows.
- Understanding of architecture patterns, caching, retry policies, and queuing mechanisms.
- Experience using AI-powered coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Amazon CodeWhisperer, Tabnine) to accelerate development and maintain code quality.
Preferred:
- Experience in the healthcare industry or working on healthcare solutions.
- Knowledge of EMR/EHR integration and HL7 standards.
- Experience architecting complex distributed systems and microservices.
