This role provides an exciting opportunity for a junior-level engineer to contribute to critical technology projects supporting naval systems and cybersecurity initiatives. You will work with a collaborative team to design, develop, test, and maintain software and hardware solutions for complex shipboard systems, ensuring high reliability and security. The position offers hands-on experience with emerging technologies and the chance to support major government programs. This fully remote role allows you to contribute from anywhere in the approved U.S. states while collaborating with engineers, SMEs, and technical leaders to deliver impactful solutions.
Accountabilities:
- Provide technical and engineering support for naval shipboard systems, including propulsion, electrical plant, machinery control, steering control, navigation, and network systems.
- Develop, test, maintain, and update software and hardware solutions to enhance cybersecurity and operational efficiency.
- Assist in implementing modernization programs and supporting acquisition initiatives.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, technical leaders, and team members to deliver practical solutions for complex problems.
- Document engineering processes, technical procedures, and software updates.
- Support continuous improvement efforts for system performance and security compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering, or Mathematics with a concentration in Computer Science.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in software or hardware development, testing, or maintenance.
- Possess at least one relevant certification such as CCNA-Security, CySA+, Security+ CE, GICSP, GSEC, CND, or SSCP.
- U.S. Citizenship with an active government security clearance.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced, technical setting.
