The opportunity

Hitachi Energy is looking for an experienced IT Infrastructure Manager to join our Business Solutions Team. In this role, you will collaborate with Country IT SDM Managers, Infrastructure teams, and 3rd Party IT Suppliers to deliver reliable, secure, and efficient IT services and solutions for project sites. You will be responsible for the end-to-end IT Infrastructure service delivery for the Grid Integration Business Unit globally, ensuring compliance with global standards and driving continuous improvement.

This is a strategic position where you will act as the face of Grid Integration business IT Infrastructure globally. You will work closely with stakeholders to understand business needs, optimize processes, and implement solutions that meet agreed criteria. Your leadership will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with IT Enterprise Architecture and security standards.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Manage IT Infrastructure delivery by monitoring progress, and balancing cost, time, and demand.

  • Manage expectations for Project IT services and oversee the capture, analysis, and prioritization of IT site project demands.

  • Ensure security compliance and support the wider IT organization with operational needs.

  • Drive standardization and harmonization of business IT Infrastructure, ensuring alignment with IT goals and enterprise architecture.

  • Act as a key liaison between IT teams, vendors, and business stakeholders, providing status updates, resolving issues, and influencing perceptions.

  • Take ownership of incident, change, or project activities that have a major impact on the business, engaging vendors and escalating when necessary.

  • Ensure activities are delivered within agreed schedules and costs.

  • Build strong relationships with the business to increase satisfaction with IT services.

Your background

  • Proven experience in IT Infrastructure management and service delivery.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide teams.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including experience working with senior managers and customers.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

  • Knowledge of the renewable energy sector or similar industries is an advantage.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.

  • Willingness to travel when required.
