Training Development Intern/Instructional Design Associate

Position Summary:

The Training Development Intern / Instructional Design Associate (Contract) supports the creation, maintenance, and deployment of digital learning content as part of the AMES Training Development Expansion Initiative. This position emphasizes content creation—building, editing, and publishing eLearning modules, videos, and related training materials—while assisting with light data management and LMS administration.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and edit digital learning content using established templates and style guides.
  • Assist in creating scripts, voiceovers, and supporting visuals for eLearning courses and training videos.
  • Organize and maintain training materials, tracking sheets, and asset libraries.
  • Support migration and testing of training modules in new LMS environments.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Training Manager to ensure consistency, accuracy, and learner engagement.
  • Participate in review cycles and apply feedback to enhance clarity and design quality.
  • Contribute ideas for improving templates, workflows, and learner experience design.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Current student or recent graduate in Instructional Design, Education, Communications, or related field.
  • Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Interest in eLearning, adult learning principles, and multimedia storytelling.
  • Basic understanding of, or willingness to learn, eLearning authoring tools and LMS systems.
  • Familiarity with video editing, script writing, or graphic design is a plus.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Foundational knowledge of instructional design or adult learning.
  • Comfort with collaborative tools (e.g., Smartsheet, SharePoint, Teams).
  • Interest in process documentation, content management, and template design.
  • Curiosity and openness to feedback; desire to grow professionally.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position in an office environment 80% of the time.
  • Will frequently move about inside the office to access files, office machinery, etc.
  • Must be able to operate basic office machinery.
  • Must be able to communicate with team and management and be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

  • Must be able to problem solve and prioritize tasks.
  • Must be able to manage stress depending on deadlines and ongoing projects.
  • Must be able to multitask.

  • Must be able to quickly communicate solutions if problems occur.
