Our focus on trucking started in the early 1990s with the development of a trucking Physical Damage policy. Since then, it has evolved to include a complete suite of products and services supporting the independent contractor including Physical Damage, Non-Trucking Liability, Occupational Accident, Contingent Liability, our signature Rig Ready® repair service, Deductible Buyback and TruXpro®, which includes downtime and rental reimbursement.

The Trucking Division is looking for a Senior Business Developer to manage the Southeast region. This position will be fully remote with the expectation of weekly travel. Candidates in the states of Ohio, Georgia, North Carolina, Florida, Tennessee and Maryland will be considered. We are open to other surrounding states depending on proximity to a major airport.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
- Develops strategic marketing plans, considering agency strengths, competitors, and market conditions.
- Identifies and secures profitable new business opportunities in target markets and develops and implements strategic plans, resulting in a specified increase in market share.
- Cultivates and maintains strong relationships with key agencies by providing tailored insurance solutions that meet their specific needs, leading to an increase in agency retention and satisfaction. Educates agencies on product features, market placement, and effective selling techniques.
- Drives revenue growth by achieving or exceeding sales targets. May develop and execute cross-selling and up-selling strategies
- Conducts market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats, informing strategic decision-making.
- Prospect for New Agency appointments within assigned territory. Find, onboard, and develop new agency relationships.
- Attend truck conferences throughout the year with occasional (rare) weekend travel.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree is preferred, and a minimum of 5 years of related underwriting or business development experience is required.
- Previous trucking or commercial auto experience is strongly preferred.
- Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation and organizational skills.
- Ability to travel weekly within the territory.
