We are looking for a Revenue Manager who will work closely across multiple teams within the Company to address revenue accounting matters in the application of U.S. GAAP, and maintenance of revenue accounting policies. As a Revenue Manager, you will own the end to end revenue accounting for Firstup and conduct research on complex revenue arrangements. You will also work closely with our financial reporting and GL accounting teams in support of the quarterly and annual financial reporting process, and other stakeholders on an ad-hoc basis (i.e., acquisition Integration team to ensure successful implementation of accounting policies and procedures for newly acquired businesses and accurate go-live reporting.)
The ideal candidate will be looking to join a fast growing Private Equity backed SaaS based software company. You should be a problem solver and self-starter who utilizes data to drive projects to completion. The successful candidate will display a balance of technical and soft skills, including the ability to respond quickly to changing business needs. This role will report to the Controller and interface with the FPamp;A team.
Responsibilities Duties
Prepare revenue accounting for month end close and ensure deferred revenue waterfalls are maintained at a customer contract level
Own the implementation of ASC 606 in NetSuite (implement ARM module)
Ensure business requirements are communicated and being address by Sales Operations for revenue automation initiatives
Perform SSP analysis as needed and create processes to maintain SSP analysis on an ongoing basis
Provide revenue accounting guidance and advice on highly visible transactions that are impactful to the organization’s overall objectives
Evaluate and implement guidance as it relates to revenue and commissions accounting
Ensure the application of GAAP to complex revenue transactions
Keep revenue accounting policy up to date based on latest authoritative guidance including collaborating with the broader finance organization to ensure effective implementation
Support the coordination of annual audit activities of external auditors, as needed
Perform key control activities identified for relevant accounting areas
Required Skills Qualification
3-4 years experience with ASC 606 revenue accounting
Experience in implementing ASC 606 and related system implementation a plus
Big 4 audit experience is a plus
CPA is a plus
Bachelor#39;s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Strong understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP
Accounting)
Experience working in fast paced, dynamic environments
Excellent communication skills with ability to develop the "story" and form recommendations
Superb attention to detail balanced by ability to focus on the "big picture"
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Proficient in Excel / Google Sheets and Word / Google Docs related skills
Excellent research and analytical skills
Excited to build out systems and processes in a rapidly growing business
