We are seeking a Senior SAP Technical Engineer​for our First Quality Enterprise company working remotely. This position will support and optimize our on-premise SAP ECC (NetWeaver 7.5) landscape running on Oracle databases on Linux within a high-volume manufacturing environment.

This role is purely technical and platform-focused — responsible for system engineering, integration enablement, performance optimization, archiving execution, connectivity, and S/4HANA migration readiness across a complex SAP ecosystem including EWM, TM, SCM, MDG, GRC, BW, SAP PI, and Solution Manager.

Primary responsibilities include:

SAP Platform Engineering

  • Provide technical oversight of SAP on NetWeaver 7.5 running on Oracle/Linux

  • Partner with Managed Service Basis and infrastructure teams on:

    • System performance optimization

    • Capacity planning

    • Landscape stability

    • Transport and environment coordination

    • Monitor and optimize Oracle database performance

      • Index and Statistics management coordination

      • SQL performance analysis (non-coding)

      • Database growth forecasting

    • Support Linux-hosted SAP application environments

SAP PI & Cross-System Integration Enablement

  • Support technical configuration and monitoring of SAP PI integrations

  • Ensure reliable connectivity between:

    • ECC

    • EWM

    • TM

    • SCM systems

    • MDG

    • GRC

    • BW

    • External MES and warehouse systems

  • Coordinate firewall, port, VPN, and certificate requirements with network teams

  • Validate end-to-end interface connectivity and message flow performance

  • Troubleshoot cross-system communication issues (non-development)

Manufacturing & Supply Chain System Support (Technical Oversight)

  • Ensure stable technical integration across:

    • Warehouse operations (EWM)

    • Transportation execution (TM)

    • Supply chain planning (SCM)

  • Support high-volume transaction environments typical in manufacturing

Data Archiving & Volume Management

  • Lead execution of SAP data archiving strategies

    • ADK configuration

    • Archiving object lifecycle management

    • Data retention policy alignment

  • Coordinate database footprint reduction initiatives

  • Support pre-S/4HANA data volume cleanup

  • Partner with compliance teams to ensure audit and retention alignment

S/4HANA Migration Technical Readiness

  • Support system readiness activities for S/4HANA migration

    • Data volume assessment

    • Add-on compatibility coordination

    • Simplification item tracking

  • Coordinate custom code analysis efforts (without performing development)

  • Assist with technical planning for Brownfield or phased migration programs

  • Align landscape components for future HANA transition

Project and Delivery Execution

  • Must excel at a project-based execution and delivery model. The SAP Technical Engineer will be assigned to projects with a specific purpose, scope and outcomes defined

  • Must be efficient and effective in designing at a detailed technical level solutions required in the SAP technical space. This includes authoring, developing and delivering:

    • Technical low-level designs based on a high-level design

    • Technical specification documents

    • Detailed test plans and test execution documents

    • Adhere to all SDLC, project delivery methodology and ITSM methodologies such as Change Control, Service Introduction and Transition

  • Lead and coordinate with matrixed teams that are needed to develop and deliver a full-scale, production level solution

The ideal candidate should possess the following:

  • 8+ years of SAP technical experience in on-prem environments

  • Strong experience with:

    • SAP ECC on NetWeaver 7.5

    • Oracle databases on Linux

    • SAP PI integration landscapes

  • Experience across SAP modules:

    • EWM

    • TM

    • SCM

    • MDG

    • GRC

    • BW

  • Experience leading SAP data archiving initiatives

  • Experience supporting S/4HANA migration readiness activities

  • Strong understanding of SAP landscape topology and transport architecture

  • Experience in manufacturing environments (paper, pulp, packaging, or similar industries preferred)

  • Experience in multi-plant manufacturing environments

  • Experience with high-transaction warehouse and logistics systems

  • Familiarity with Linux system fundamentals

  • Participation in S/4HANA Brownfield migrations

  • SAP technical or Basis-related certifications
