About You:

You’re a product design leader who thinks like a product owner for experience and a builder for scale. You don’t just guide teams to ship great screens — you shape systems, define the right problems, and drive outcomes across an AI-native platform. You have strong UX and UI taste, but what sets you apart is how you connect user needs, product strategy, and business impact.

You’re a player-coach who leads the function while owning critical product areas yourself. You lead through clarity, craft, and momentum. You thrive in ambiguity, bring structure to messy problems, and build high-performing teams that move fast without fragmenting the product. You partner deeply with product and engineering, set a confident direction, and raise the bar across the entire platform.

Location: This is a fully remote role, offering you the freedom to work from anywhere in the US.

You Will:

• Own and Lead the Product Design Function: Serve as the functional head of Product Design inside the product org, setting vision, standards, and operating rhythm while staying hands-on in the work.
• Personally Drive High-Impact Work: Own major design initiatives across the AI OS, leading end-to-end discovery through execution on your projects.
• Design the AI OS Experience End-to-End: Drive experience strategy across Fello’s AI Operating System, spanning vertical data intelligence, marketing automation, workflow automation, conversational AI agents, agentic workflows, and AI-native CRM features.
• Turn Intelligence into Action: Ensure users can discover insights, understand meaning, and take the next best action with minimal friction.
• Shape Conversational and Agentic AI UX: Establish interaction patterns for AI agents, including trust, control, transparency, and human-in-the-loop handoffs.
• Partner on Product Strategy: Work side-by-side with PM and engineering leaders to frame problems, define success, prioritize bets, and sequence roadmap work.
• Drive Platform Consistency: Own cross-platform UX coherence so the product feels like one connected system, not a collection of features.
• Elevate the Design System: Build and enforce a scalable design system that supports speed, quality, and AI-era interaction patterns.
• Hire and Develop Top Talent: Recruit, onboard, and mentor designers, building future design leaders while staying close to day-to-day product delivery.
• Prototype, Test, Iterate: Ensure the team moves quickly from concept to prototype, validates with users and data, and refines based on what works in the wild.
• Communicate with Clarity: Present vision and work in ways that align teams, unblock decisions, and keep execution moving.

You Have:

• Experience: 10+ years of product design experience, with 3+ years leading and scaling product design teams in B2B SaaS. AI-native or automation-heavy product experience is a big plus.
• Platform and Systems Leadership: You’ve owned or led design across multi-surface products and know how to create cohesion at scale.
• Hands-On Player-Coach Experience: You’ve led as a functional design head while simultaneously owning and shipping large, ambiguous product areas.
• Strong UX + UI Craft: Expert in interaction design, information architecture, and visual design. You simplify hard problems without dumbing them down.
• Compelling Portfolio: Shows end-to-end work and the impact of your leadership on product direction, system quality, and shipped outcomes.
• Product-Minded Approach: You think in priorities, tradeoffs, sequencing, and measurable results, and you help teams do the same.
• Technical Skills: Deep expertise in Figma (Auto Layout, components, libraries, prototyping). Fluent in design-for-dev collaboration and scalable patterns.
• Excellent Communication: You are clear, direct, and persuasive, and can guide cross-functional teams through ambiguity.
• High Bar + High Velocity: You can drive quality without slowing teams down, creating a culture of fast, thoughtful execution.
• Curiosity for Innovation: You stay ahead of UX, automation, and AI trends and translate them into practical product improvements.
