Job Details
The Workday Financial Systems Administrator will be the primary technical support resource for the Company’s Workday Financials and Workday Adaptive Planning systems. The Administrator will be responsible for the day-to-day administration, configuration, and optimization of all Workday Financial applications and Adaptive Planning integrations and build out.The Administrator will also ensure accurate system configurations, troubleshoot user issues, oversee release activities, maintain strong internal controls, and support integrations with other financial platforms. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in Workday and a strong understanding of accounting and finance
Responsibilities
Workday Financials Administration and Maintenance
Administer, configure, and maintain Workday Financials and Workday Adaptive Planning to support business requirements.
Administer and maintain Workday security by managing user roles, security groups, and permissions to ensure compliance and system integrity. Conduct regular access reviews and monitor approval workflows.
Provide technical support to end users by troubleshooting issues and supporting training initiatives on new features, updates, and best practices.
Stay current with Workday features and functionality to ensure the organization maximizes system value and efficiency.
Lead semi-annual Workday Release activity and support system updates and implementations.
Integrations and Change Management:
Maintain and monitor integrations and APIs between Workday and external platforms such as financial planning, close management, accounts payable automation, and banking.
Create and document system configurations, including test scenarios, workflows, and approval processes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate closely with core Accounting and Finance teams to uncover operational pain points and drive resolution. Proactively identify areas for improvement across financial processes and implement effective solutions.
Collaborate with business leaders to maximize existing processes and design (configure) new system changes to meet operational needs for tracking key operational metrics.
Design, create, and maintain Workday reports (including matrix and advanced reports) and dashboards to support financial and reporting needs.
Support special initiatives such as M&A activity with Workday data conversions, as needed.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in information technology, accounting or finance, business administration or a related field. Combination of post-secondary education and Workday experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
3–5 years of configuration/administration experience in Workday and Workday Adaptive Planning.
Workday Pro Financials certification or equivalent, preferred.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Suite, Workday and cloud-based software applications.
Skills & Abilities
Strong configuration experience with Workday Financial-related modules and Workday Adaptive.
Agile project management skills, including the ability to reprioritize based on frequently evolving needs.
Experience in configuring Workday security, workflows, reporting, integrations, and at least 2 financial modules (e.g., Accounting Center, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Management, Cash Management, Expense Reporting).
Strong grasp of security principles and how they apply to Workday; understand and create role/segmented based security groups depending on business requirements
Strong understanding of accounting principles and finance processes.
Ability to leverage technology to drive Accounting and Financial efficiencies and process optimization.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills including root cause analysis.
Team player who can also work independently.
Ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
