PreSales Solution Engineer | Retail
TheSolution Engineer provides the sales force (direct and channel) with deep technical and business expertise in retail systems to help close opportunities with retailers and multi-store operators. As aSenior Solution Engineer, you will leverage your business and technology knowledge acrosspoint of sale (POS), store systems, and retail operations to build credibility and trust with prospects. You’ll collaborate closely with the sales team and Channel partners to demonstrate how our solutions can enhancestore performance, omnichannel integration, and customer experience. You will be responsible for supporting sales targets and delivering persuasive, insightful product demonstrations tailored to the retail industry.
What you will be doing:
Prepare for and conductsoftware demonstrations in partnership with the Sales team, focusing on POS, store management, and omnichannel retail solutions.
Providetechnical and operational expertise through workflow analysis instore operations, inventory management, merchandising, and payments.
Consult with the sales force to translate complex customer requirements into clear, value-driven solutions.
Act as aliaison with Product Management to communicate customer feedback and suggest enhancements relevant to retail technologies.
Deliver customer and prospect webinars and participate in retail trade events as a product expert.
Travel domestically up to 50%.
What you will likely bring:
Minimum of3 years of experience in presales or solution engineering for retail systems such as POS, store operations, or retail ERP solutions—or equivalent operational experience in a retail environment.
Proven success in supportingdirect and channel sales teams.
Experience inretail operations, payments, or ecommerce integration.
Documented experience indelivering compelling product presentations and demonstrations to retail executives and operations teams.
Successful candidates may have worked for companies such asOracle Retail, NCR, Lightspeed, Shopify, Square, Toast, or other POS/ecommerce software providers or VARs.
3+ years of applicable experience and a record of consistent presales success in the retail technology domain.
Formal training or certification in a sales methodology such asMEDDPICC, Challenger, or Solution Selling.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Retail Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Knowledge ofomnichannel retail, payments systems, and digital commerce ecosystems.
